Chapultepec

Guadalajara has lot's of big avenues, but what makes chapultepec so unique ?... well maybe it is the infrstructure that has this avenue, monuments and great nightlife it has.

chapultepec.jpg

there's a lot of things to do here in chapultepec, interesting stores, bars and places where you can go and spend your time worthly.
url.jpg

Sometimes in the nights you will see different events of different styles of people, like one time i went there and saw a big exposition of motorcycles and all the riders and different biking gangs, it was very interesting to see all this people together as a urban group, and then another day i went and saw a hippie expo, so it's very unique to go, you always see something different and never gets old.
url.jpg

I've visited chapu lots of times, and i like the variety of bars they have, they're all different, and you can just go there and if you get bored of one you can just go to other one.
url.jpg

I really recommend chapu as a place to go while you're staying here in Guadalajara, it is worth to go and spend some hours either in the night or day, but definently there's more things to do in the night.
url.jpg

The only thing that turns me off, is that crime is notorious, and it's very dangerous to walk back to your car, there's been a lot of assaults, and purse picking, so i recommend you to be safe and try to go with a lot of people, also i've been experienced some really weird people that try to convince you to walk with them, and when they get you far from people they'll take your stuff away, but this are just minor problems that can be avoid easily, but i think maybe a little bit of more police officers would be alright.

Drug War in Mexico

We all have been victims, all the country has been witness of a violent drug war that started back on 2006 and has left thousands and thousands of victims, including lots of innocents.
This bloody war is between drug cartels fighting for states to control all the drug trade of the country and to the U.S, and also against Mexican goverment forces.

File-Fuerza_del_Estado_Michoacán.jpg
There's about 11 drug cartels in the whole country:

  1. Sinaloa cartel
  2. Gulf cartel
  3. Juarez cartel
  4. Knights templar cartel
  5. Tijuana cartel
  6. La familia cartel
  7. Los zetas
  8. Beltrán Leyva cartel
  9. Jalisco new generation cartel
  10. Independent cartel of Acapulco
  11. La Barredora

There's been claims that 9 of 10 victims of the drug war are members of the organized-crime groups, but this is very questioned in other sources, and me as a citizen i dont't belive it, because i see this war everyday, and even know a bunch of people that has suffered this very bad, with kidnapping and even murder.

url.jpg

The drug war murders have been escalating in the past few years, and it's very sad that people it's starting to get used to something so unhuman like this, we see killings everyday, but we just don't care anymore and think it's very normal, but a lot of people is suffering the consequences of this bloody drug war.
File-Drug-War_Related_Murders_in_Mexico_2006-2011.png

Also the media, Journalism suffer consquences, here in the country it's so dangerous to go to cities and do a report about a shooting or murder, because in minutes you will have someone frightening you that you have to stop because you're gonna get killed if you don't. There's been already murders of journalists, and it's hard to report something without getting a warning.
url.jpg

Do you think this drug war that started Felipe Calderón was worth it ?, do you think it's gonna have positive results in a future , and maybe someday stop?, LET'S CHANGE THIS COUNTRY, but let's not wait for this to get worse, and let's start to raise our VOICE.
